Small Group KAP Sessions

Now enrolling for first session 2026

Sapience Therapy is pleased to announce that we are resuming our group ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) sessions this spring. This group will run over a period of 10 weeks, which will include a mix of in-person and virtual preparatory and integration sessions, in addition to six 3-hour in-person group KAP sessions. KAP sessions will be one week apart, with integration sessions following each KAP session.

Our prior cohorts have been deeply healing and transformative to participants, and we are refining our protocol to include two additional KAP sessions compared to previous groups. We have found that the depth of connection that occurs within the group becomes more robust the longer we spend together, and feel that these two additional sessions will allow participants to gain even more from the experience.

For those who have never experienced such a process, you may be wondering, why would I want to do this delicate inner work in a group?

First, there is a certain magic in the group process. Bringing ourselves together to authentically share our hardships and our joys can lead to surprising new insights. And connecting with others who are struggling in similar ways can provide a balm for the spirit. However apprehensively we may approach a group experience, it nearly always facilitates a deeper opening than we could have achieved on our own. Participants and facilitators alike find themselves relaxing into and trusting the process, growing and unfolding in unexpected ways. The experience of being unconditionally held by a group of peers as we address the challenges of being human provides a potent context for transformation. Most participants find that the power of the group plays a significant role in their healing process, one that they could not have anticipated.

Second, the group structure allows us to offer the transformative therapeutic modality of KAP to more people at a more affordable cost. The full six KAP session package, multiple additional non-medicine sessions, and the medicine are all included in the cost of the package, which is approximately the same cost as three one-on-one KAP sessions.

Groups are currently offered at Community Yoga & Wellness in Greenfield, with KAP sessions held on Friday afternoons.

Please note that participants are not able to drive themselves home from the six medicine sessions, and will need to arrange a ride to and from the site. Applicants will be screened for appropriate fit for the process, and for appropriate fit for the specific cohort.

What is the group process like?

Each group is co-created by all participants and facilitators together, allowing group members to get to know and trust each other, the facilitators, and the space, prior to any medicine sessions.

The discovery call is conducted by the group co-facilitator Jenn Suprenant, our talented Smith Social Work intern, and is intended to assess intentions for this work, fit for the group, and answer questions prior to committing to joining the group.

The intake session with Dr. Scott is a one on one zoom meeting at which medical and psychological history are explored, the process is reviewed in detail, dosing is determined, questions are answered and intentions for the group process are discussed.

Preparation sessions focus on orientation to the logistics of the process, a further introduction to working with ketamine and altered states, establishing group dynamics in the setting of each individual’s background and needs, deeper exploration of personal intentions, and creating trust and safety within the group.

Medicine sessions begin with group sharing and grounding, blood pressure check, dosing confirmation, and preparation for journeying. Each participant is attended by a trained sitter who can assist with note taking, trips to the bathroom, or any other personal needs during the medicine journey. Music is integral to the experience, and unique, specifically curated playlists are used for each session. Participants are encouraged to journey together in the large yoga studio room; however, a private area is available for a participant who may need more space for a particular session. The medicine session is closed by again joining together in circle to share or witness others - sharing is always optional, and personal space is always honored.

Participants will need a confirmed ride after each medicine session.

Integration sessions are conducted by Jenn, and focus on exploring themes which arose during each medicine session in a supported and facilitated group environment.

Payment:

At the time of signing up, a nonrefundable deposit of $325 is required prior to scheduling your medical intake. The remaining balance can be paid in one payment, or weekly payments of $725. Full payment must be received prior to the first in person meeting on March 20th.

By joining this program you are agreeing to make every effort to attend each session, virtual and in person. The power of the group process depends on this consistency, and the presence of each participant is essential to creating the safety and sense of community which make this work possible. We ask that you carefully guard these times in your schedule, especially the intensive group medicine days, to ensure continuity and trust within the group, and for your own healing benefit. If there is a date that you know will not work for you in advance, please check in with us prior to committing to the group - we recognize that this is a large time commitment and will make every effort to be flexible. If the group knows in advance about a potential missed date, we can adapt, but we ask that once committed you do not take on any conflicting obligations, and prioritize this gift to yourself.

Covid policy: Participants are expected to self screen for any covid symptoms prior to each in-person meeting and to take a covid test prior to coming for any symptoms or any exposures to a known case. Participants with URI symptoms who are covid negative may attend masked. Masks will not be required otherwise. A missed session due to covid or serious illness will result in a $200 credit at Sapience for future sessions or other services. A missed session due to scheduling conflicts or personal choice will not result in credit or reimbursement.

We hope you will join us for this next unique group healing community!
