Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)

What is KAP?

KAP is a unique and revolutionary therapeutic method, used to address a variety of mental health conditions, including but not limited to:

  • Treatment resistant depression

  • PTSD

  • Addiction disorders

  • Eating disorders

  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder

  • Generalized anxiety disorder

  • Suicidal ideation

KAP harnesses the power of psychotherapy in addition to the intensive opportunity provided by Ketamine induced expanded states of consciousness, as well as the well known biological antidepressant effect of ketamine itself.

What to expect?

  • Initial assessment - Initial consultation, 20-30 mins duration, to assess eligibility and see if we are a good fit to work together

  • Intake - Detailed medical and psychological intake assessment

  • Preparation - Prepare client for the experience. Provide overview of Ketamine assisted psychotherapy, informed consent, discuss intentions, motivations and fears, choice of music etc

  • Treatment - 3 hour exploratory session, including Ketamine treatment followed by integration

  • Post-treatment Integration - 2-3 days after treatment, optional for patients already working with therapists, required for patients who are not in ongoing therapy.

Safe and healing set and setting

Our office space is intentionally created and curated to provide our patients with a safe, comforting and healing set and setting to facilitate journeys into non-ordinary states of consciousness. Patients are encouraged to bring keepsakes that are meaningful and important to them during their treatment.

Music therapy and Journaling

We have partnered with Wavepaths and offer unique and customizable music playlist to choose from during our treatment sessions. Music is well known to influence the quality and content of experience, and we want to optimize the therapeutic power of music for all patients, while retaining patient agency over the choice of music.

Patients are provided with a journal during preparatory sessions along with an inventory derived from center of consciousness medicine. This serves as a roadmap to one’s path to healing, and regular check-ins will be offered for the duration of treatment and after, to assess psychological and emotional progress.
