Music is important for any psychedelic journey. It provides structure and arc, evokes emotions, and invites imagery. It can be comforting and familiar, or can push us beyond the known.

One reliable way to deepen any psychedelic journey is to listen to unfamiliar music with unpredictable or minimal structure. Always choose music that does not contain words in a language that you speak, unless your intention is to deeply insert the message of the lyrics into your psyche.

The arc of the playlist is important for bringing the mind gently to the edge of the familiar world, and then encouraging it to let go and surrender into something new. I always recommend listening to the playlist again during your integration activities, to help your system to reembody the psychedelic experience in a more somatic way, which can bring new insights from the journey into awareness.
